It's All About Balloons

Latex balloons are 100% Biodegradable.

Depending on the balloon it can take from 2 –  8 years.  At PumpU Up Balloon Artistry, we are concerned about what happens in those 2 – 8 years.

What are balloons made of:

Natural rubber latex is a milky fluid found in rubber trees. There is a protein in the fluid that can cause allergic reactions in some people.

Bubble Balloons are very different to latex balloons. They are made from a clear stretchy plastic (not latex) and once inflated are perfectly clear (even Diamond Clear Latex Balloons don’t have the same transparency).

Helium

Helium is the second-most-abundant element in the universe however a nonrenewable resource. On Earth it’s relatively rare. It results from the decay of uranium, can’t be artificially created, and is produced as a byproduct of natural gas refinement.

While it’s amazing to use in a balloon, it has more practical use such as a cooling agent for MRI machines, testing for leakage in fire extinguishers and tires along with many other uses.  Predictions are that we’ll run out in 25 – 30 years.

PumpUUp Balloons is working alongside the goals of the balloon community.  We don’t use Helium in our products but are helping to develop and recommend other methods of display to create the same effects. Ask us how this can impact your design.
